  1. OVERVIEW

Unhook is a digital wellness application
developed and published by Softigrity.
This Privacy Policy describes how we
handle information in connection with
your use of Unhook on Android.

Our core principle: we collect as little
as possible, store almost nothing on our
servers, and share nothing with third
parties for commercial purposes.

  1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2a. Information you provide
If you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Display name (optional)
  • Account creation date

This information is stored in Firebase
(Google) solely to identify your account
and sync your subscription status across
devices.

2b. Information stored on your device
The following data is stored locally on
your device only and is never transmitted
to Softigrity:

  • Your personal mission and goals entered
    during onboarding
  • Focus session history and streak data
  • Blocked app preferences and schedules
  • AI coach conversation history
  • VPN shield settings and keywords

This data is deleted permanently when
you uninstall the application. Softigrity
has no ability to access, view, or
recover locally stored data.

2c. Accessibility Service
Unhook requests Android Accessibility
Service permission to detect when a
selected app is opened and display an
intervention screen.

This permission is used exclusively to:

  • Detect which app is in the foreground
  • Show blocking or intervention screens

This permission is NOT used to:

  • Read, record, or capture screen content
  • Log keystrokes, passwords, or text
  • Access messages, emails, or personal data
  • Monitor apps not selected by the user

All Accessibility Service processing
occurs locally on your device. No data
is transmitted to Softigrity.

2d. VPN Service
Unhook’s Content Shield uses a local
VPN to filter DNS queries for adult
content. This VPN:

  • Runs entirely on your device
  • Does not route internet traffic through
    any external server
  • Does not log or transmit DNS queries
  • Cannot be used to monitor or intercept
    any content beyond DNS filtering

2e. AI Coach
When you use the AI Coach feature,
your messages are sent to Google Gemini
API to generate responses. These messages
are processed by Google under their
privacy policy. Softigrity does not store
coach conversation content on any server.

2f. Purchase and subscription data
All billing is handled by Google Play.
Softigrity does not process or store
payment card information. Subscription
status is verified through RevenueCat,
a subscription management service, using
an anonymous or Firebase-linked identifier.

2g. Analytics and crash reporting
Unhook uses Firebase Crashlytics for
crash reporting. This may collect device
model, OS version, and crash stack traces.
This data is used solely to fix bugs and
is not linked to your personal identity.

  1. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the Unhook service
  • Verify subscription status and unlock
    Pro features
  • Respond to support requests
  • Fix bugs and improve the application
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for:

  • Advertising or behavioral profiling
  • Sale or transfer to third parties
  • Training AI or machine learning models
  • Any purpose unrelated to Unhook

  1. DATA RETENTION

Account data (email, display name) is
retained until you delete your account.
You can delete your account at any time
from the Profile screen within the app.

Locally stored data (streaks, sessions,
preferences) is retained on your device
until you uninstall the app or delete
specific data within the app.

  1. YOUR RIGHTS

You may at any time:

  • Delete your account via Profile screen
  • Request export of any data we hold
    by emailing [email protected]
  • Revoke Accessibility Service permission
    via Android Settings
  • Revoke VPN permission via Android Settings
  • Stop using AI Coach features

EU/EEA users have additional rights under
GDPR including access, correction, erasure,
and portability. Contact us at

  1. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Unhook is intended for users aged 18 and
above. We do not knowingly collect data
from minors under 13. If you believe a
minor has created an account, contact us

  1. SECURITY

We implement commercially reasonable
security measures to protect account data.
Firebase provides encryption in transit
and at rest for all stored data.

Because most user data is stored only on
your device, the primary security
responsibility rests with your device
security settings and credentials.

We may update this policy periodically.
Material changes will be communicated via
in-app notice or email. Continued use
after notification constitutes acceptance.
